Precious moments captured.

Let the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR take you on a journey of discovery. Never miss a decisive moment switching lenses, thanks to its wide focal length range of 180-600mm that enables you to capture a vast variety of subjects outdoors. Go one step further without stepping further physically by pairing the lens with teleconverters. Extend up to 840mm or 1200mm with a 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverter3 respectively. That way you can focus on important moments when you film wild animals, birds, or a particular car during a race, without having to crop your images.

Key Features

So far, yet so close.
Stay close to your subject despite the long range of the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 1.3m at the wide-angle end, and a minimum reproduction ratio of 0.25x at the telephoto end. Meaning that, apart from going the distance to capture images of a soaring hawk, you can capture moments of a bee gathering pollens, or a dewy drop of water on a flower petal.

Stay agile.
Go around with the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR without sweating it, zoom through the broad focal range with only a 70-degree of the zoom ring. Compact and lightweight in its class, the lens weighs only 1,955g. Super portable as a telephoto lens that can be carried around for a long period of time. Just go down the rabbit hole that very minute you see it – without a tripod collar, you can gain extra agility with minimal fatigue.

Fast and quiet AF.
Get in focus in no time. The NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR has adopted a stepping motor (STM) to help you focus on your subject quickly, silently. Stay low-key when you acquire images of a bird, a squirrel, or any wildlife in their natural habitat, without scaring them away.

On the move at all times.
Focus more on the surrounding with hassle-free photography and videography. Designed for outdoor, NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR is your perfect companion for open spaces. Zoom in and out while staying stable with its centre of gravity – despite its telephoto distance – thanks to its internal zoom mechanism that highly reduces the effect of weight shift. The fact that its barrel movement is minimised also seals off dust and water droplets effectively4, which is ideal for an outdoor shoot. What’s more, the fluorine coat on the front surface of the lens also prevents contaminants from sticking to it, allowing you to clean it easily.

Precise. Powerful.
Experience the powerful, superb performance of the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR. As a part of the NIKKOR Z lineup, this lens renders sharp and high-resolution images from edge to edge. It has six ED glass elements to suppress chromatic aberration to minimise colour fringing, ensuring colour accuracy. Its vibration compensation of up to 5.5 stops also effectively reduces the chance of image blur. This is especially important for telephoto lenses. With such high-power zooming, any slight movement would be largely magnified. The VR performance of this lens allows you to shoot handheld without having to worry about the camera and lens itself. And when filming erratic movements of small animals, turn the VR SPORT mode on and you will achieve a stable EVF viewing when panning, tracking, and doing continuous burst high-speed shooting. That way you will not miss a single movement.

4 L-Fn buttons.
Keep your eyes fixed on your subject. Switch between different pre-set modes with four L-Fn buttons on the lens. Just assign your preferred functions and you are just one click away from your favourite settings during a shoot.

Video matters.
Tell stories that move. Designed with videography in mind, the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR has adopted a quiet stepping motor and clickless control ring to minimise operational sounds. So when recording a video, you can avoid stray noise from getting in the way. The angle of view and exposure are kept constant even when adjusting the focus position and aperture, keeping a smooth transition even when shifting focus.

Stepping Motor
NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, accurate, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video.

Fluorine Coat
Photographers need gear that can withstand the elements. Nikon’s fluorine coat effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease or dirt, ensuring easy removal even when they adhere to the lens surface. Nikon’s fluorine coat endures a high frequency of lens surface wiping and its anti-reflective effect also contributes to the capture of clear images.

IF lens
A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.

Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting.

ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass
An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.
