Nikon Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Camera Lens

Pack lighter. Trek further. Shoot handheld. From hunting eagles to banking planes, this S-line super- telephoto lens brings the dynamism of distant subjects close in thrilling clarity. Uniquely portable, it boasts exceptionally fast, smooth, and reliable AF performance—and in-lens optical VR keeps shots steady. Stills or video, you’ll reap the rewards on every shoot.

Shoot far
The details on a bird’s wing. Tyre smoke on a bend. The 800 mm focal length gets you incredibly close to distant subjects. You can extend the reach to 1120 mm with a Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x, or 1600 mm with a Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x.

Shoot handheld
With its lightweight design, made possible by the Z mount and a Phase Fresnel (PF) lens element, this 800 mm lens favours the brave! Take it off the tripod and pan handheld, or go for bolder angles. Catch the shots you couldn’t before.

Shoot balanced
This lens’ centre of gravity is closer to the camera body—making it easier to pan and stop smoothly. You can follow even erratically moving subjects with a fluidity previously unheard of at this focal length.

Pin-sharp
A specially shaped Phase Fresnel (PF) lens element and Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat significantly reduce ghosting. Nikon’s ED and SR glass control chromatic aberration from the centre to the edge of the image.

Fast, smooth, steady
AF is fast, precise, whisper-quiet—tracking is smooth whether shooting jostling race cars or distant wildlife. When used with Nikon mirrorless cameras that support Synchro VR, you can gain up to 5.5 stops vibration reduction.

Cinematic
Pan from shadows around the nest hole to a sunlit sky—film scenes with natural shifts in brightness thanks to extremely stable aperture control. Focus breathing is suppressed so you can smoothly shift focus while maintaining framing.

Customisable control
An intuitive layout lets you control key functions without taking your eye from the viewfinder. You can assign functions to the L-Fn buttons and the silent control ring - and you can use the memory-set button to save focus distances.¹

Advanced weather sealing
Sealing around all moving parts keeps dust and moisture at bay, and a rubber gasket on the lens mount protects both lens and camera. Nikon’s fluorine coating protects the front element and makes it easy to clean.²

Filter ready
An integrated slot makes it easy to drop in filters, giving you even more control over tricky lighting situations.

Easy lens hood
The supplied HB-104 lens hood boasts a sliding release tab, allowing the hood to be removed with one hand.
