Nikon Nikkor Z 100-400mm f/4.5 5.6 VR S Camera Lens

The NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S brings a super telephoto zoom range that's ideal for wildlife, sports and action together with premium S-Line optics, breathtaking image quality, effortless autofocus, rock-steady VR, and comfortable handling.

Macro-Style Close Focusing.
Traditional super telephotos can overpower close shooting situations. Not the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S. Even when you're right in front of your subject — as close as 1m away — you can still zoom all the way to 400mm and fill the frame with macro-style details.

Plays well with Teleconverters.
The NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S is compatible with the 1.4x and 2.0x Z Series teleconverters. Increase your reach to 560mm or 800mm with outstanding resolution, no loss of focus points and very little extra weight or length.

Unrivalled Optical Performance.
With a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.38x and with the shortest minimum focus distance in its class1, the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S is able to acquire focus with a minimum distance of 0.75m at the widest focal length2.

Expand Imaging Possibilities.
Focus, frame, and shoot even at a lower shutter speed with Vibration Reduction (VR) performance that compensates up to 5.5-stop. Take things to the next level with VR sport mode that enables you to capture erratically moving subjects.

Incredible handling.
Newly developed Inner Balance Technology maintains a constant centre of gravity (within just 3.8mm) when zooming in and out, for minimal interruptions.

Capture quicker.
Cover the entire zoom range with less than a quarter turn of the smooth zoom ring and no perceptible change in balance. This is comfortable, intuitive handling at its best.

Lightweight.
Despite its big zoom power and image quality, the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S is remarkably lightweight at approximately 1,355g.

Built to withstand weather.
All moving parts of the lens barrel are carefully weather sealed, and the lens mount has a rubber gasket. The front and rear elements have Nikon's proprietary Flourine coat, which repels dust, oil and water droplets and easily wipes clean3.

Outstanding for Video.
With ultra-quiet focusing, suppressed focus breathing, smooth aperture adjustments, a constant centre of gravity and S-Line image quality, the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lets you bring super telephoto views with beautifully compressed backgrounds to your videos.

Quality you can see.
The NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S bears the S-Line designation, reserved for premium NIKKOR Z lenses with the most advanced optics, superior resolution, beautiful bokeh, robust weather sealing and precision design.

An information panel at the top of the lens delivers vital details at a glance, such as aperture, shooting distance, and depth of field without the hassle of looking through the camera's viewfinder or monitor. Assign frequently used functions to your preference for a more efficient shooting experience.
